My son was being unusually clumsy yesterday. He bumped his head or fell, no joke, at least a dozen times. My dad says it's probably due to growth spurts. Well, by the middle of the day, I wish now that I'd been a little more cautious. After my shower, I was getting dressed when Misty woke up, and she was a little fussy when Ross brought her up. He hopped in the shower, and while I finished getting dressed, Misty started to really cry. She was up on the bed and so was Wyatt. He was jumping around a little, then he'd stop to talk to Misty and that would ease her crying for a second. I picked her up to take her downstairs for a bottle saying, "Come on Wyatt." Just then, he sprung off the bed and took a dive into our dresser. He was crying immediately, and I put Misty down and rolled him over to see a lot blood gushing from the side of his eye. I panicked and screamed for Ross. He jumped out of the shower, soap in hair, and put pressure on it. (Why didn't I think of that?) I jumbled around saying fragments like, "Who should I... what do I... he's going to need..." Finally I got myself together and realized my parents had given us a couple of First Aid Kits, and one was right in the hall closet. I opened it up and found a butterfly bandage. It had stopped bleeding, and you could look right into the wound and see his BONE! Ross bandaged it up and we drove to the hospital.

Wyatt was so brave the whole time. He was okay as long as daddy was in the room. Ross was applying a numbing agent so the doctor could give him a local anesthetic when he got back. He received a phone call, and I took over while he left the room. Wyatt started to whimper and asked for daddy. Ross was back shortly and Wyatt was acting like his normal self. I'm sure he was curious of his surroundings, but he was pretty much acting normal. He squirmed a little when they gave him the local, but he held almost perfectly still while the doctor gave him four stitches. Ross helped him to be so brave. I'm so glad he was there.

I am gald he is okay, That is always scary. I have only had to take one kid to the ER and I felt sick when I saw what heppend. It was my three year old and her big bro for who knows what reson thought it was a good idea to throw a METAL gun at her and hit her in the eye. Blood was pouring from her eyeball! I thought her eye was gone and could not tell until i got u bunch of the blood cleaned up and the bleeding slowed down. she was very lucky and only ended up cutting under her bottom eyelid which we have no idea how that worked. I guess the Lord watches out for the little ones!
Wow, how scary. What a brave little boy though.
Geez, I can't believe that, how scary. I would of freaked out just like you. He's such a Q-T. Now he looks all tuff with his battle mark.
Stitches are no fun...but it's amazing they don't need them more often with as many tumbles boys take! I'm glad he's doing better. I love the pic of Ross and Wyatt together after the stitches. He looks a lot happier then. :)
Thanks for the pictures ... when we heard about it we were glad to hear that you thought to take them. We'd knew they'd show up sooner or later.
That first picture looks horrible. I was so worried about him the whole time we were at moms, I was afraid Dusty would find an interest in them.
ooh! How scary! Glad everything turned out okay! Isn't it funny that the most random/serious/funny experiences suddenly turn into things we can blog about?
